Chewy Brownie

Information about Karla: Karla has always had a passion for cooking. She was such a huge help to me, from a young age of about 12, she would cook our dinner, whilst I was at work. All I had to do when I arrived home from work, was warm and serve it up. We are very grateful to Karla for being kind enough to share some of her recipes with us.

Ingredients
  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g cooking chocolate
  • 6 eggs (lightly whisked)
  • 3 cups raw sugar
  • 230 g plain flour (sifted)
  • 60 g cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
  • Pinch of salt
Method
  • Pre-heat oven to 180 - 200 deg C
  • Grease square cake tin (or baking dish)
  • Simmer a quantity of water in a saucepan
  • Place butter, chocolate and sugar in a bowl over saucepan of water
  • Stir until melted and sugar has dissolved
  • Remove from heat
  • Quickly stirring in eggs, sifted flour, cocoa powder, vanilla and salt until combined
  • Pour into prepared cake tin
  • Bake for 30-45 minutes (depending on preferred texture)
