Gem Scones

Information about Karen: Karen and her husband Les have inherited some wonderful recipes passed down from family members. She is an amazing "home" cook and everyone goes back for seconds. Karen has kindly shared some of her amazing recipes with us for this site.


Information about this recipe: This recipe was passed onto Karen from her Aunty Betty, who also lived in the Wanaaring area for many years. Karen grew up with this family recipe.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 ozs (45 g) Butter
  • 3 Tblspn Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • Pinch Salt
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1 1/2 cups S R Flour
Method
  • Heat 2 Gem Scone Trays
  • Cream butter and sugar
  • Add egg, salt and milk, beat well
  • Fold in flour
  • Spray very hot trays with oil
  • Fill and bake in 220C oven for 15 minutes
