Honeycomb Toffee

Information about Elaine: Elaine has been kind enough to provided us with several recipes, which have been passed down through her family. Both Elaine and her mother Mrs Agnes Larkings were / are great cooks and we feel very blessed that Elaine has agreed to share her family recipes with us.

Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon honey or treacle
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1 dessert spoon of baking soda
Method
  • Boil all ingredients until the mixture hardens if dropped into cold water (test as mixture is boiling)
  • Stir in baking soda and as it froths pour into a greased dish to set
  • Break into edible bits once set
