Steak Diane Sauce

Information about Cheryl: Cheryl was born and bred in Bourke, western NSW. Cheryl and her daughters use many of their own products to make jams, relishes, cakes, biscuits and many other treats to sell at the local markets. They also sell their own fresh produce at the local Farmers Markets. Cheryl is a great cook having taught her daughters well, by passing all her own family recipes onto them.

Ingredients
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (crushed)
  • 1 teaspoon of butter (for sauté)
  • Half lemon squeeze
  • Small bottle of thicken cream (300 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of black sauce (worcestershire)
  • 1 tablespoons of tomato paste
Method
  • Sauté onion and garlic in butter until soft
  • Then add cream, lemon juice, tomato sauce, black sauce and tomato paste
  • Stir on low heat until mixed in well
  • (Will turn pink in colour)
  • If sauce is a bit runny add a little cornflour mixed with cold water into a paste to thicken (personal preference)

To serve
Dish Very tasty with BBQ meat or on a nice piece of steak. Sprinkle with chives on top when serving .
