White Sauce

Information about Sharon: Sharon grew up in my home town of Bourke (NSW). Sharon has a passion for cooking and is always experimenting with new foods and flavours. Ingredients
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 T plain flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper
  • ½ cup grated tasty cheese
  • 1 t Dijon mustard (if desired)
Method
  • Melt butter in saucepan
  • Add plain flour
  • Stir with whisk over low heat for 1 minute
  • DO NOT burn
  • Gradually add milk - a little at a time
  • Mix continually
  • Bring to the boil, reduce heat and cook for 2 minutes
  • Season with salt and pepper
  • Add grated tasty cheese and Dijon mustard (if desired)
